My review for this project is the ‘YOU Brief’ which was to an animation based on myself but in an imaginative way.
What I think of it was complicated as of trying animate first time while being out of education since end of June to end of September and then coming back which was hard to adjust, especially in my first year. It was also time consuming to fill in a sketchbook, do an animation and make presentations.
I kind of liked project as drawing my characters and first time animating but I’m not fully confident of showing myself off about life, since I don’t like being the centre of attention and I feel this I show too much of myself.
Researching was tricky as of the course has more freewill than the last course at my old college, which do three critical reviews of an artist or a brand or points will be taken off. Part of this made me unsure what I should add or leave out.
The animation wasn’t too bad as I find Adobe After Effect, not so tricky for me as of I learnt parts of Flash and I used Photoshop and Illustrator which had the similar layer controls. But the problem was the my iMac had the latest version and I tried to work on it that computer but the college iMacs don’t have their updated, so it refused to open the document by saying it has an error message and opened the file as a blank document! The other problem was queues for the computers as New Media and 2nd Years needed these computers too.
For presentation, this was the easy bit of all the tasks, since I don’t have to worry on Adobe Illustrator as I use it alot and the computers were limited, I was lucky to have it on my laptop but it has CS3, not CS5. The other complaint is the price of getting board, glue, cutting mat and scalpel.
Conclusion is, it was enjoyable overall and if I did this again, I would think carefully of my research and what to add in my book. Also think of getting an A4 book instead of square papered book, as I print things into them was to think of the size.
